The Public Lighting Authority has transformed Detroit’s public lighting infrastructure from an antiquated, dysfunctional system to a model operation that speaks to Detroit’s ongoing recovery. 

Only a few years ago, nearly half of the city’s streetlights didn’t work and residents waited months, if not years, for a broken light to be repaired. Today, every neighborhood and commercial corridor is well lit, and we repair any malfunctioning lights within five days.
